CMSC 477/677: Agent Project
Your assignment is to describe the workings of an original agent architecture.
You will deliver two things:
- A conference-style paper describing the architecture.
- An 15 minute presentation that describes your architecture in depth.
The project grade will be based on the following:
- First draft (50%)
- Presentation (25%)
- Final Draft (25%)
- Extra Credit Reviewing (1% each, up to 5%)
The paper will be written in LaTeX using the
AAAI conference style
and the AAAI bibliography style.
If you do not know how to use LaTeX style files, you can find several resources online.
Graduate students are required to write 6 pages.
Undergraduates are required to
write 4 pages, but may use up to 6 pages if needed.
Do not exceed 6 pages printed (figures, bibliography, etc. are included in the page count).
Realize that AAAI format is very condensed and 4-6 pages is actually quite a lot!
First Draft
The first draft is due 3/31. The first draft should be the full paper length, be
fully proof read and revised. That is, for all intents and purposes, the paper should
be done. For graduate students, the paper should be a level of quality that would
be accepted to a conference. More leniency will be given to undergrads in this respect.
Presentation
The presentations are 3/31 and 4/2. You will give a 14 minute presentation, which
includes 2 minutes for questions.
Final Draft
The final draft will include any additional final revisions you may want to make.
Also, all the concerns made by the paper reviewers will have been addressed.
Extra Credit Reviewing
You may review other student's papers and provide constructive feedback or proofreading.
Paper writers: turn in with your reviewer's written comments or marked up manuscripts
so that they get credit for reviewing your paper.
Each review will be worth up to 1%, depending on the amount of effort put into the review.
No more than 5 may be completed.
